Remember in the one with all the introductions when I said this channel wasn’t fancy and there was going to be some randomness?
Welp… this week’s vlog is definitely random.
Along with all our usual shenanigans, we pick up steak rub, start a generator, move cows (again), make a trip to town, drink some coffee, unload the feed we picked up in town, and cake the cows.
If you’re not familiar with cow cake, you might know it by another name – it’s what some folks call range cubes. It’s a cubed protein supplement we feed to our cows at different times during the year, like through breeding season and during the winter. Now that I think about it, one of my very first blog posts was actually about caking.
Anyway, if you’re still scratching your head about what exactly cake is – hit play below to find out. 😉
I’ll always share our vlog here on the blog, but if you want to stay up-to-date in realtime, be sure to go ahead and hit subscribe on our YouTube channel!
Hi! GBR!!
Really enjoy watching your blogs. They remind me of home when I used to live there in Nebraska. Got a chuckle out of the wind while you were loading cake. Good ol’ Nebraska wind. It never stops.
I never get enough of the beauty of the Sandhills. Your blogs allow me to enjoy their place in this world, their wildness and purpose they were created.
I agree with you there about pumpkin lattes! A little over-rated! 😉
Thanks for sharing your chores, story and smile. It’s nice to know there are gals like you out there.
Hi Wanda! GBR!!
Thanks so much for your kind words and for reaching out! You are right about the Nebraska wind. It’s always blowing and never from the right direction. hehe! I do love me some pumpkin spice, but not in lattes. It has to be in something that has actually pumpkin in it for me. Thanks again for reaching out and stay tuned for more videos to come! 😉
Im using your videos in our Ag Mech class to show how farming is done very different in the mid west compared to the SE USA… We love that its so far to town and how your roads are dirt compared to everyone in my class lives on a nice road… Cant wait till winter
Hi Joe!
This makes my heart so happy! Thanks so much for sharing our videos with your students! Things do get a little interesting road wise here in the winter, but the snow is so beautiful. Thanks again and have a fabulous day!
