It’s that time of year again. Spring is nearing, the birds are chirping (at least they are if it isn’t snowing where you are), and Cupid has his golden arrow drawn back ready to fire. And… Couples everywhere are scrambling to come up with the perfect Valentine’s Day gift ideas.
Unless you’re me, or my husband.
We don’t celebrate what we lovingly refer to as Forced Affection Day, but that’s beside the point – a topic for another time, maybe next week. However, just because we do not celebrate does not mean that I don’t know what I’d like to receive as a gift on the day of love. But, to be fair, I’d like to receive these gifts on any random Tuesday because they’re awesome. And because, I love beef!

Beef Builds Beautiful Bodies Trucker Hat
These embroidered trucker hats are the resurrection of the old classic, brought back by my friend and fellow beef lover, Tayler Teichert. These hats are not only awesome, but also insanely honest. In case you hadn’t heard, beef is a good source of ten essential nutrients that help you maintain a dashing, Valentine’s Day worthy physique.
Okay. To be fair, I do already have a Beef Builds Beautiful Bodies Trucker Hat in every color (the blue is my favorite). But, if I didn’t already have one five – I would want one.
Hot Tip: This awesomely honest accessory is available in all five colors here at Shop FFB!
Meat Thermometer
In addition to my love for beef, I have an affinity for food safety. I am a self-proclaimed food safety enthusiast. And, I tend to get excited about tools that help keep myself and my family safe from the pain and gut-ache associated with foodborne illness. One such tool is my meat thermometer.
I currently have two meat thermometers. One is digital, non-oven safe thermometer that I use when I am grilling. The other is a Taylor Precision Products Classic Style Meat Dial Thermometer that is oven safe and I would love to have another one of these.
My Taylor Classic Style Meat Thermometer is perfect for cooking things like Ridiculously Tasty Roast Beef. And truth be told, I would love to have another one in my food safety arsenal available and at the ready on those crazy days when I want to cook not one but two Ridiculously Tasty Roasts.
Meat Claws
I shred a lot of meat. I have been known to shred 30 pounds of beef roast in one day. Granted, that is in preparation for our spring work and generally just one day a year. But still, that one day in 365 warrants having the appropriate tools. Because, while using two forks to shred meat works fine, it is tiring.
I’ve had my eye on a set of Grillaholics Meat Claws for two reasons. First, they pretty badass! And secondly, I’m pretty sure I could shred a three pound rump roast in record time with claws like that. I seriously want them – bad. In fact, I’m just going to go ahead and get them… happy Forced Affection Day to me. Hehe!
Grilling Set
I am the griller in our house. My husband has tried, but the he and the grill just don’t see eye to eye. Now don’t get me wrong, he is a good cook. It’s just that his culinary genius happens more in the kitchen or dutch oven than on the grill.
I, on the other hand, love grilling. And, I grill quite frequently year-round. As a result, I need good utensils, especially since most of mine are still MIA after our move a few months back. I mean, I have been getting by with just my grilling tongs, but flipping burgers sure would be a lot easier with a good sturdy spatula – you know?
I am afraid I may never be re-united with my beloved grilling utensils. But, the thought of getting the Mr. Bar-B-Q 18-Piece Stainless-Steel Barbecue Set really does soften the blow. This set not only comes with a spatula equipped with bottle opener, it also has 17 other pieces for precision grilling. The best part is that it comes with a case, I would be less likely to misplace my tools – in theory anyway. I am pretty good at losing things…
Omaha Steaks
Last, but certainly not least, is the gift of beef itself. My absolute favorite meal is a grilled to perfection ribeye steak. I may or may not be a steak snob – steak from a restaurant or steakhouse just won’t do. I would much rather receive the gift of an un-cooked ribeye to prep and grill myself than to have my husband take me out for a “nice” steak dinner date. And besides, we live so far from a town, let a lone a town with a steakhouse, that date nights are fairly few and far between.
However, Omaha Steaks provides the perfect solution. Because Omaha Steaks will deliver direct to our doorstep, we can enjoy a legit nice steak dinner/at-home date night complete with tender, juicy ribeye steaks seasoned with Tom’s Steak Rub (look for this seasoning coming soon to Shop FFB) and grilled to perfection by me.
What about you – do you celebrate Forced Affection, I mean, Valentine’s Day? If so, what are some of the things you’d love to receive, and what are some of the creative gifts you’ve given to those you love?
