The calm before the storm. The period of unusual tranquility or stability that precedes difficult times. We’re forecast for another winter storm complete with freezing rain, snow, wind, and all the fixin’s.
But we had a day where not a breeze was blowing, the sun was shining, and it was down right beautiful. Days like that, make it hard to believe what’s coming. But we don’t sit around basking in the sunshine. We get to work and take advantage of the calm before the storm, prepping for the storm.
We got the cows tucked into a pasture with lots of good protection (a.k.a. big hills), fed extra hay, got generators ready, and filled fuel cans and water jugs in the event we are out of power again.
While I wasn’t super excited about all that was forecast (I love the snow, but could do without the freezing rain and wind), I am always grateful for the warning and the calm before the storm.
