Description
Seriously the best bread sticks I’ve ever made.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon yeast
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups warm water
8 tablespoons butter (1 stick), divided
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 cloves garlic, pressed
Parsley
Instructions
Pour the yeast and sugar into the warm water, give it a gentle stir, and let stand for 10(ish) minutes.
Meanwhile, melt 6 tablespoons of the butter. Pour the melted butter it into a 9×13 cake pan or baking dish with sides.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and mix with the dough hook or paddle for 8 minutes. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead for a couple of minutes.
Divide the dough into 9 equal pieces. Roll each piece on the counter or in your hands into a dough stick. Place the dough stick into the prepared cake pan or baking dish, coating them in the melted butter as you do so.
Once all of the sticks are made and in the pan, melt the remaining two tablespoons of butter and add the pressed garlic. Brush the bread sticks with the garlic butter, sprinkle with the parsley, and let rise for 20 minutes.
Place them in a 400 degree preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes or until the bread sticks are a delicious golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
